Happy Birthday Love!

Today I'm wishing my handsome husband and my best friend the most wonderful birthday ever!!  He is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  I've had the time of my life sharing the last 4 years with him and can't wait to share more exciting adventures in the years to come.

Holding on to Summer

I love the beach and all things beachy.  The only thing I dislike about Atlanta is it isn't at or near the beach.  I'm ignoring the fact that fall is approaching and exploring the ways I can keep the beach with me in my landlocked home.  Whites, drift wood, shells, shabby chic, sea glass, and effortless comfort are all the things I love about the beach and all things that can be used year round in any location.

In a Holding Pattern

So I know the anticipation is killing you all (that is if anyone other than my parents actually read this) but we are still no quite finished.  Actually the Mr. is finishing up the front as we speak.  In the meantime I am still in search of patio furniture and ignoring the fact that fall seems to be quickly approaching.  The early mornings and evening temps have been quite pleasant lately.

Here are a few picks I've been lusting over while I wait.

Fence - Check

I’m pleased to say that the weekend was somewhat successful. The fence is complete and back deck is half way there. We were stopped short by a clogged paint sprayer and threat of rain. Sad situation however I LOVE the fence. The fence is some much warmer with paint as opposed to the raw pressure treated wood. Here’s a sneak peek and hopefully next week I can share the full reveal!

In other news I’m super excited about attending the Sweetwater Beer Dinner at my man’s place this evening.

Weekend Project

This weekend we will hopefully get to finish painting the front porch and reveal the new construction plus (fingers crossed) paint the back porch, picket fence and back panel fence.  The house is white and I'm trying to convenience the Mr. that a muted warm brown will be perfect.

We also need some ideas for the boring panel fence along the back.

Beautiful Beach Cottage

Alan Worden's amazing 'green' beach cottage on Ester Island off Nantucket.
I love the effortless understated beach charm.

I love the shingled walls, rich ceilings, kitchen window, driftwood details, and beautiful whites.
I love Atlanta but I wish I was closer to the ocean....
