What a difference a year makes!

I can’t help but remember the weather we had around this time last year. We were all boarded up in a snow storm…well mostly ice. Down south with any sign of snow or ice the city shuts down. Nevertheless it was a surprisingly nice little break. Last year I was still in my boot and on some nice pain killers after my bunion surgery. So I didn’t get to fully play in the snow.

This year the weather is sticking to around mid 50’s to 60’s and I am fully healed. I am not going to complain. I quite enjoy being able to get outdoors in January without bundling up. Over the weekend the Mr. and I enough went out to the mountain with Hendrix to enjoy the nice weather. I wish I had taken my camera along. Hendrix loves to play in a creek, he had a ball.

Monday Randoms

Holy Smokes it was not fun getting up this morning. It was an amazing, lazy weekend. We enjoyed some couch time and some good food. It was so nice to enjoy a couple of days with the Mr. and no agenda.

I finally saw the Secretariat and cried like a baby.

We went to the Atlanta Underground Market Saturday night….not so underground. WAY TOO many people and it was way too crowded to really enjoy but we did get a few tasty things.
Sunday was a perfect rainy day, went to church in the morning, made chili, and hung out on the couch all day.

We did mange to check out the nursery and come up with a plan for the front yard. Now we just have to decide if we want to fork over the extra dollars for the more mature plants. I’m trying to be more focused on my home projects this year but the living room is still on track just waiting on a deliveries. So I’m working on 2 this month. Hopefully both will be by the end of the month. Here’s a sneak peek of what we are thinking about…

First full 5 day week of work in several weeks, happy Monday everyone!

Friday Randoms

It has been an amazing little week. The Mr. has been off work and it’s been wonderful coming home to both of my men each day.

As you know we have our new sofa in place! Woohoo. The old sofas have been sent off to the consignment store. This week we also purchase a beautiful leather recliner. It’s was a pretty penny but it’s an investment…right. Hopefully we will have this bad boy till twenty forty unfortunately we won’t get it until the end of the month. The living room is coming together slowly but surely. I’ll do a full post when it is completed hopefully before February.
Last night I also got to cross a pretty exciting thing off my bucket list. Over Christmas we came close to shooting some guns off at my Grandaddy’s farm. Unfortunately there were some hunters hunting and my Grandaddy didn’t want us to disturb them….lame I know but he’s the boss. Anyways…last night the Mr. and I ventured out to find a gun range. I was so excited to find one like 5 miles from the house. However I have to say I did not find the thrill in shooting. It scares me to death. I did it and wasn’t really very bad at it but I’m not signing up for a gun club membership anytime soon. So men there had some really crazy guns and they were very scary. I wanted a smaller one and the Mr. informed me that anything less than the 22 revolver we had would have been a beebee gun. Oh well call me boring but I’m good with a pepper spray and some running shoes for self defense.

It’s Friday and the Mr. is off I have no idea what to do this is new for us. I’m looking forward to a weekend with my Mr…and perhaps a few cocktails! Cheers!

It's Okay Thursday...

Its Ok Thursdays

...that I have decided not to join the gym and purchase work out videos instead

…I’m 28 years old and am just now picking out and purchasing our own furniture…goodbye hand-me-downs! It’s so exciting!

…that we have had a week of winter weather and I’m ready for summertime.

…that sometimes I make things too complicated.  But this year I'v found this little piece of wisdom this week on Bippity Boppity Boo tumblr and I’m going to uncomplicate this easy stuff…

Better Late than Never

I’m a little late on my resolutions but I’ve been trying to find a few that I really can accomplish and I’ve finally narrowed it down.
  • Devote more time for designated Date Nights
  • Finish our front year bed
  • Visit a good friend in Pheonix
  • Cook for the Mr. more often and work out consistently. I’m not going to put a number of days a week, try and lose a percentage, I’m just going to try and be healthier in twenty twelve.
  • Send Birthday Cards. I did really bad at this last year and I promise to do better this year friends and family.

 Wish me luck!
Does anyone have any fun date ideas and delicious recipes?

Happy New Year

Despite the cold weather 2012 has brought us down in the south the new year is upon us and I’m back to work. Regardless I’m super pumped! It’s going to be a great year. We started the New Year out right with a nice quiet dinner and champagne. Thanksgiving with just the 2 of us was so lovely we decided to try it again for New Years. I know it’s not very exciting but it was a very peaceful way to start a New Year.

The Mr. and I have some great things to look forward to this year.

Traveling is one of our favorite things. While we don’t have anything planed in stone yet we do have a tentative July trip to Dominican Republic with friends this summer and possible one other little surprise trip is still in the works.

The Mr. will be in a couple of beer festivals this year which will be really exciting! I can’t wait to share his concoctions. We tried his pumpkin porter last night and it was really great!

We also have several little house projects planned for our bathroom, new bathroom, kitchen tile, and finally work on some landscaping.

Well it seems once again we have our hands full for another fun filled year.
