Suit Up

Step number one in getting ready for Puerto Rico
Finding the perfect suit.

Our Puerto Rican vacation is an all expense paid trip from work for achieving my goals!
One little catch, we will be there with a lot of colleagues + some much more important peeps than myself.

All this to say, need swimwear appropriate to be worn in front of those kind of folk.
To my surprise I've found several I really like!

I'm making an effort but not convinced I will make it to the 2 piece this year.

Spring

Since I missed Friday

floral fabric ribbon

Today I will celebrate the beginning of Spring.
Seems more appropriate to start on a Monday.

Spring breathes new life...
I'm looking forward to enjoying some warmer weather
Saturday play grounds
Prepping for summer beach trips
Smell of green grass
and of course some spring cleaning

So excited to celebrate a new season with our growing girl.

Bungalow Kitchen: DIY Taco

Tacos are a staple and usually a weekly meal
in our bungalow.

Last summer (thanks to pinterest)
I started making our own taco seasoning mix.
So much better then the package.

This weekend I finally said what I've been saying I was going to do since last summer.
Made a jar for mix so it's always handy.
Mind you, it took all of 10 minutes.

Homemade Taco Seasoning | I already had a taco seasoning recipe, but I love this visual so much that I'm repinning it anyway.

Cheers to Taco Nights!

Five Friday Loves

TGIF
(sigh) for sure, it's been one long week
I feel like we've had four seasons this week along

I am ready for Spring, tulips, sun dresses, and planting.

one.
It's still a little early for some real planting.
I'm worried we may get one more cold snap.
But this weekend I am going do some indoor planting...

Succulent centerpieces via http://haydenregina.com/planted?image#0?image#0 || Recreate this succulent wedding centerpiece with faux succulents from Afloral.com!

Aloe plants are very beneficial for increasing oxygen levels in your home. They have also been found to absorb formaldehyde, carbon dioxide,...
Great info from the Plant Extremist!

two.
Spring TV is back!
I can't get enough Survivor and Amazing Race

three.
I am loving compiling Parker's Spring Wardrobe!

Cute!

SO much cute stuff out there...Pinterest has got me considering taking up sewing.

four.
My Puerto Rican vacation is booked!
I'm so excited to get my summer clothes out and start putting together my packing list!

five.
I'm biting the bullet and booking a family photo session.
We need a good picture of the 4 of us (4th being the dog, no baby on board)!

Cheers to a warm and relaxing weekend!

Scattered Chaos

I haven’t posted much lately because I have so scattered.  I wouldn't go as far as to say unorganized but definitely flying by the seat of our pants.

You Call It CHAOS We Call It FAMILY XL Wooden Sign Plaque U-Pick Color GR8 For Blended for Large and Blended Families

March…is it really March…hard to believe.  Where has the year gone?  I feel like every month I start by saying ‘I’m going to get it together, this month’.

I’m beginning to think I may never get back to my ‘Pre Parker’ organized state of mind.  I may don’t think I’m quite ready to give in enjoy our little chaos, but hoping I will soon settle on happy medium.  We are definitely beginning to get in a routine.

From Chaos to Calm: 15 Weeks to a Happy Home @ A Virtuous Woman

I am SO looking forward to Daylight Savings SUNDAY!  Finally, I love being a working mama but hate when we get up after dark (it may only 6:30pm) but nevertheless it’s sad not getting in an evening walk.

Goals for March…
·         Get our taxes done…this is the latest I've ever waited
·         Get my Birthday cards in order for the next few months (so terribly behind, I apologize family and friends)
·         Organize affairs for upcoming travel.  I have a lot of work and person travel Spring/Summer and I need to get the Mr. and baby prepared.
·         Finish P’s Easter basket before Easter weekend!

I would go on but I will attempt to be realistic.

Happy March to all and I don’t know about you but I’m ready to see green grass, evening stroller walks, and dye eggs.  Spring is coming and I am ready!

Cheers
RW

PS:  Not that he would ever see this but shout out to best Daddy around, Happy Birthday JWK!

Wrap Up: January 2015

Wrapping up January 2015
[Parker's, 15 months]

We enjoyed a nice start to the year in Hendersonville, NC
[sadly no photos]

We got home in time to spend a some time
with my brother and his girlfriend before they headed back to college.

It's been a pretty quite month around the bungalow.
Work is crazy busy.

Enjoyed a few afternoon walks on some warm January afternoons.

Parker spent a week and a half home with Strep Throat
which turned into Ear Infection and Scarlet Fever!
Poor little lady was pretty sad for a few days
and gave us quite a scare but is always such a good sport.

We have another busy month ahead of us.
I plan to take more photos, turn off the TV and enjoy family time in the evenings.
