Weekend Project

This weekend we will hopefully get to finish painting the front porch and reveal the new construction plus (fingers crossed) paint the back porch, picket fence and back panel fence.  The house is white and I'm trying to convenience the Mr. that a muted warm brown will be perfect.

We Are Back

I love the old school carolina beach homes.

I think we need to take a week vacation every quarter. It is refreshing and re-energizing. I love my family even with our moments of drama all is fun. We are back with lots of plans for the next couple of months. Since vacation we have had friends in town one weekend, wedding the next weekend, and off to visit the in laws this weekend. In between all of that we are in the midst of a laundry room revamp, creation and installation of a new light over the kitchen sink, turning out toilet green, and lots of ideas!

Items on the list for the next couple of months…

- Finish Laundry Room
- Purchase and Install Microwave…I can not believe I’ve lived over a year without one.
- Redo kitchen backsplash with white subway tile
- Board and batting and paint in guestroom
- Finish front year landscape

I will keep you all updated and promise to start posting regularly.

It comes in waves...

With the good comes the bad and then the good again.  So after our wonderful news in the last post things have been not so fabulous.  After the tree fell on the porch, our computer and Mr. car both bit the dust.  Thus we have been crazy busy getting back on track and with work.  Last night we finally got our new computer, which is awesome!  The car is still on hold since Mr. has been working for 2 weeks straight, luckily my parents are fortunate enough to have an extra vehicle they have been so kind to loan us in the meantime.  We've filed our homeowners insurance claim and the porch will be fixed soon.  In GREAT news in 3 days we are headed to my family reunion (at the 4H Center where mosquitoes are the size of small birds and where I was attacked by a rooster at a young age), then a party for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary, and then finally the BEACH for a week!  I can not wait!  We got a great house in the NC Outer Banks with all of my extended family and it is going to be SO much fun!  I love the beach!!!
